Aletheia's AI analyzes each upload first and reaches the real/AI-generated verdict on its own. Optionally, a SHA-256 fingerprint of that exact file can then be recorded on-chain as a tamper-evident reference — so anyone can later check whether a file still matches what was originally registered. Blockchain doesn't detect deepfakes; it verifies that a file hasn't changed since it was registered.

AI and blockchain answer two different questions. AI asks "does this media appear fake or AI-generated?" Blockchain asks "does this media still match the version that was originally registered?"

A SHA-256 cryptographic hash — a unique fingerprint — is generated from the exact bytes of the analyzed file.

Blockchain Registration

If you choose to register, that fingerprint and a few small verification details are recorded on-chain. The media file itself is never uploaded to the blockchain — only the fingerprint.
